Chiefs head to Rotorua to play Blues on Valentine’s Day
The back-to-back Investec Super Rugby champions, the Chiefs will play their only New Zealand pre-season fixture against the Blues on Valentines Day, February 14 at Rotorua International Stadium at 6pm.
Chiefs coach Dave Rennie said “We are looking forward to playing in Rotorua. It is important to us to play games in different parts of our region. We have done this over the last few years and will continue to do so as it helps us understand who we represent.”
Rennie and his coaching team are expected to give as many players as possible a run and will use the pre-season match against the Blues to try out a variety of position combinations.
Families are encouraged to bring home-made picnics into the park but no alcohol or commercially branded take-away food is allowed be taken into the ground. Food and beverages will be available on site.
Tickets to the match are on sale now. Adult general admission is $15; children 14 and under are $5 and kids 4 years and under are FREE. Entry is free for Chiefs 2014 Season Members on presentation of their 2014 plastic membership card at the gate. Gates open at 5pm.
The Chiefs will play the Reds in their first pre-season match at Toowoomba Sports ground on the 8 February.
