SCOTTISH RUGBY: Robertson and Turnbull fly to New Zealand

Mark Robertson and Andrew Turnbull (pictured) have been called out to New Zealand for the fifth leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series in Wellington, next weekend (7-8 February).

Head coach, Stephen Gemmell, said: “We’re delighted to be able to call on the experience of two specialist sevens players to join us in Wellington.

“John, unfortunately has suffered an injury to his hand and Scott, with the extra week between the two tournaments, will now return to Glasgow Warriors duties.”

Scotland 7s will meet Canada (Midnight, Friday 7 February), Argentina (3.09am) and USA (5.56am) on day one in New Zealand. All times are UK.

Scotland 7s squad to compete in the Wellington 7s (7-8 February): Scott Riddell, Finlay Gillies (Glasgow Warriors), Struan Dewar, Alex Glashan, Colin Gregor (captain), Mark Robertson, Lee Jones (Edinburgh Rugby), Michael Maltman, Russell Weir, Andrew Turnbull, James Johnstone and Gregor Young.
