SCOTTISH RUGBY: Scotstoun to host auld enemy in A international



Scotstoun, home of Glasgow Warriors and the Emriates Airline Glasgow 7s, will host an A international for the first time in the new year, it was announced today.

Scotland A will aim to repeat last season’s away success against England Saxons when they meet at Scotstoun on Friday 31 January (kick-off 7.30pm).

Venues for Scotland under-20, Scotland Women, Scotland under-18 and Scotland Clubs XV matches were also revealed today.

Stephen Gemmell, Scottish Rugby’s Head of Performance Development, said: “We’re delighted to take the A international to Scotstoun and we’ll be looking for a typically vociferous Glasgow backing for the A team.

“Once again we’ve got a decent spread of representative fixtures around the country and I’d ecnoruage fans to get along to these games to support the players. Admission to the majority of games will be free.

“Where there is an admission charge, the proceeds will be retained by the host club.”

Sunday 8 December: Scotland under-18 fixture v Australia Schools, MYRESIDE, Edinburgh, kick-off 2pm. Admission free.

Friday 31 January: Scotland A v England Saxons, SCOTSTOUN, Glasgow, kick-off 7.30pm.

Friday 7 February: Scotland under-20 v England under-20, NETHERDALE, Galashiels, kick-off 7.30pm. Free admission for concessions.

Sunday 9 February: Scotland Women v England Women, RUBISLAW, Aberdeen, kick-off 2pm. Admission free.

Friday 7 March: Scotland under-20 v France under-20, NETHERDALE, Galashiels, kick-off 7.30pm. Free admission for concessions.

Friday 7 March: Scotland Clubs v France, OLD ANNIESLAND, Glasgow, kick-off 7.30pm. Admission free.

Sunday 9 March: Scotland under-18 v England under-18, LAIGH BENT, Hamilton, kick-off 12 noon. Admission free.

Sunday 9 March: Scotland Women v France Women, HAWTHORNDEN, Lasswade, kick-off 2pm. Admission free.
