Jantjies, Ismaiel to return for Blue Bulls

A few players will not train till Wednesday, but Vodacom Blue Bulls coach Pine Pienaar should have Tony Jantjies and Travis Ismaiel available for selection for Saturday’s Absa Currie Cup clash against Western Province at Loftus Versfeld.

Jantjies (hip) and Ismaiel (knee) will train then and could be named in the squad to play the defending champions.

Francois Venter (foot) and Clayton Blommetjies (ankle) will train tomorrow, but Mornè Mellett will only be ready to resume training on Monday and will miss another week of rugby.

Basil Short (knee, 4 months), Francois Hougaard (ankle, 5 months), Cornell Hess (knee, 6 weeks), Deon Stegmann (shoulder, 5 months), Arno Botha (knee, 2 months), Pierre Spies (bicep, 3 months), Louis Fouchè (knee, 4 months), Jean Cook (thumb, 3 weeks) and Callie Visagie (ankle, 4 weeks) remain longer time casualties.
