Steval Pumas remains unbeaten in 2013 ABSA Currie Cup First Division

The Steval Pumas extended their lead at the top of the points table as they destroyed the SWD Eagles 60-20 at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles and Pumas was involved in a arm wrestle for the first 60 minutes of the game and it looked like it would be a close result.

The Eagles tooke the early lead through a Justin van Staden penalty. The Pumas then hit back through a Herne try to take the lead. It was short lived as the Eagles replied with a try by Roy Godfrey to retake the lead. Herne and bezuidenhout scored tries to put the Pumas back in front.

Mtyanda scored a try after the break and the Pumas started to look comfortable. Alshaun Bock then pulled it back with a try for the Leopards and it was a 7 point game again. Vincent Koch then started the wave of tries by the Pumas. His try was followed by a brace through Bell before Kember and Van der Walt added their names to the score sheet.

BeZuidenhout missed three of the conversions but still tallied 20 points during the game.

Frankie Herne (2), Carl Bezuidenhout, Giant Mtyanda, Vincent Koch, JW Bell (2), RW Kember, Eduan van der Walt. Conversions: Bezuidenhout (6). Penalty: Bezuidenhout.

SWD Eagles 20(13) – Tries: Roy Godfrey, Alshaun Bock. Conversions: Justin van Staden (2). Penalties: Justin van Staden (2).
