Vodacom Blue Bulls u-21 lose Rossouw to injury for WP clash

Vodacom Blue Bulls Under-21 coach Nollis Marais were forced into a change at fullback to his side that will play DHL Western Province in the Absa Under-21 Provincial Championship in Cape Town on Saturday.

Jacques Rossouw suffered a quad injury against the Leopards two weeks and did not recover in time for the trip south. He will be replaced by Damian van Wyk, the only change to the backline that scored six of the seven tries in the 59-17 win in Potchefstroom.

Up front, Marais beefed up his pack with the return of Vodacom Bulls player Hencus van Wyk at prop and the return to fitness of regular captain and flanker Wiaan Liebenberg, who will also lead the team.

Liebenberg replaces Shaun Adendorff who moves to the bench ahead of Ferdi Horn.

Jannes Kirsten will start at lock in place of Paul Willemse, who is involved with the Vodacom Bulls ahead of their Super Rugby semi-final against the Brumbies. Marais also included utility back Christopher Bosch on the bench, ahead of Jermaine Kleinsmith.

The Vodacom Blue Bulls team to play WP at 16h30 is: Damian van Wyk, Jade Stighling, Dries Swanepoel, Rohan Janse van Rensburg, Travis Ismaiel, Tony Jantjies (v/c), Rudi van Rooyen, Clyde Davids, Roelof Smit, Wiaan Liebenberg (c), Schalk van Heerden, Jannes Kirsten, Hencus van Wyk, Jaco Visagie, Neethling Fouchè. Replacements: Jason Thomas, Christoph Gouws, Dennis Visser, Shaun Adendorff, Kefentse Mahlo, Malcolm Theo, Christopher Bosch.
