Samoa’s James So’oialo cited “for not releasing the ball”
Adriaan Strauss Suddenly swings wildly and then burst from the ruc chasing after a player. Obscenities spewing from his mouth. Normally a rather calm and collected player it meant something serious had happened.
And in deed it was a serious incident that sparked his outburst of rage. James So’oialo yesterday gave new meaning to “playing the ball on the ground; not releasing; holding on; coming in from the wrongside”. As the TMO had put it: ” Blue 15 has grabbed 2 green in an indecent manner. So’oialo grabbed Strauss by the short and curleys. For that his team was penalised.
So’oailo has been cited and and will face a judical hearing on Sunday at 9 am. Alongside him will be winger, Alesana Tuilagi. Tuilagi will appear for the dangerous tackle on Jean de Villiers, an offence he received a red card for. Maybe the on field punsihment for the two incidents in question should have been reversed.
